Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle Forward: 639 head of cattle Comprising: 600 Feeding Cattle (74 Young Bulls, 60 Beef Feeding Cows & Bulls, 466 Bullocks & Heifers) & 39 Breeding Cattle.

BREEDING SHEEP & RAMS - TUESDAY 13TH OCTOBER 2020

FORWARD: 908 Breeding Ewes & 29 Rams. A late season feel to the sale but still customers supporting good runs of Mule, Lleyn and Texel Shearlings. Hill ewe customers more selective with the highlight a run of sound 4 crop Cheviot ewes. Odd sheep losing a tooth averaging £91 and their 3 crop counter parts in the same conditions averaging £102.

Solid clearance rate and strong selling averages at CCM Skipton Swaledale rams highlight Skipton Auction Mart’s annual evening fixture for registered Swaledale rams attracted a tremendous turnout of 72 head, a dozen more than last year, recording an extremely high clearance rate and increased averages. (Mon, Oct 12)

Forward: 72 Registered Aged and Shearling Swaledale Rams A tremendous sale this year was seen for Swaledale Rams at Skipton with a very high clearance rate, seeing all 28 aged rams forward selling to a top of £1400 and a solid average of £539 each, whilst Shearlings sold to £1500, averaged £406.22 and an 85% clearance.

Strong averages and excellent clearance rates at CCM Skipton Charollais females annual highlight Good clearance rates and strong across the board averages, both showing a marked increase on the previous year, were seen at the British Charollais Sheep Society’s annual autumn sale of registered breeding females at Skipton Auction Mart. Selling averages up for all classes at third Skipton gimmer lamb highlight The October gimmer lamb highlight at Skipton Auction Mart – the third sale of the season - again saw much improved trade on the year when producing an overall selling average for the increased entry of 4,169 head of £89.50, compared to 2019’s £65.90 for just over 4,000. ANNUAL SHOW & SALE OF SWALEDALE EWES & GIMMER SHEARLINGS Forward: 2,364 head. Overall Average was £116.34 (+£29.65) CCM Auctions conducted their Annual Sale of Swaledale Draft Ewes and Gimmer Shearlings at Skipton Mart on Saturday. A good trade during the Autumn for Mule Lambs brought buyers to the Annual Sale of Swaledale Breeding Sheep in confident form which brought an increase of £29.65 per head against the 2019 average of £86.39 which on the year was considered a good result.

CCM Skipton Swaledale females up almost £30 per head on year Horns aplenty were on parade at Skipton Auction Mart as Swaledale females came down from the hills for the annual gimmer shearlings and draft ewes Saturday fixture, when much enhanced trade across the UK sheep sector was again reflected in an overall selling average for 2,364 head of £116.34, up a solid £29.65 on the 2019 average of £86.39.
