Strong averages and excellent clearance rates at CCM Skipton Charollais females annual highlight Good clearance rates and strong across the board averages, both showing a marked increase on the previous year, were seen at the British Charollais Sheep Society’s annual autumn sale of registered breeding females at Skipton Auction Mart. (Sat, Oct 10)

Fortnightly Catalogue Sale of Store Lambs Forward: 8278 Head, Overall av £72.13 Another great day at CCM Skipton with 8,265 store lambs sold at an average of £72.13, with trade seen to be very similar to the previous sale.

Selling averages up for all classes at third Skipton gimmer lamb highlight The October gimmer lamb highlight at Skipton Auction Mart – the third sale of the season - again saw much improved trade on the year when producing an overall selling average for the increased entry of 4,169 head of £89.50, compared to 2019’s £65.90 for just over 4,000. Monthy prime champions crowned at Skipton Auction Mart Keelham Farm Shop in Skipton again set about putting the very best of locally reared British beef on to the tables of its customers in Craven and beyond when buying both the champion and reserve at Skipton Auction Mart’s October prime cattle show and sale.

ANNUAL SHOW & SALE OF SWALEDALE EWES & GIMMER SHEARLINGS Forward: 2,364 head. Overall Average was £116.34 (+£29.65) CCM Auctions conducted their Annual Sale of Swaledale Draft Ewes and Gimmer Shearlings at Skipton Mart on Saturday. A good trade during the Autumn for Mule Lambs brought buyers to the Annual Sale of Swaledale Breeding Sheep in confident form which brought an increase of £29.65 per head against the 2019 average of £86.39 which on the year was considered a good result.

CCM Skipton Swaledale females up almost £30 per head on year Horns aplenty were on parade at Skipton Auction Mart as Swaledale females came down from the hills for the annual gimmer shearlings and draft ewes Saturday fixture, when much enhanced trade across the UK sheep sector was again reflected in an overall selling average for 2,364 head of £116.34, up a solid £29.65 on the 2019 average of £86.39. MULTI BREED RAM PRESS - 1ST & 2ND OCTOBER 2020

New format two-day multi-breeds sheep fixture at Skipton produces multiple highlights There were multiple ovine highlights at Skipton Auction Mart’s annual multi-breeds sale of 754 head of rams and females, minus the usual shows and staged over two days to assist with Covid-19 safe distancing regulations, a new format that was well received. Top call of 1,700gns fell to a Texel shearling ram from regular Red Rose vendor Procters Farm. (Thursday and Friday, Oct 1&2)

CCM Auctions held their Annual Sale of Multi Breed Rams & Females at Skipton Mart this year split over 2 days to help with covid restrictions. Forward: 754 head of Rams & Females. Thursday – 195 head. Friday – 559 head

Lleyn Sheep have received strong interest this year at the society sales, and todays sale at Skipton was no exception, with females in high demand, and rams receiving a solid trade.

North Craven Dugdales in fine form at Skipton Lleyn sheep highlight The Lleyn Sheep Society’s annual sale at Skipton Auction Mart – as usual the final society sale of the season – saw females in high demand, with rams also receiving a solid trade. (Thus, Oct 1) Interest was particularly high for shearling ewes, with five pens achieving £200 or more, the top two making £205 per head. The first, a pen of ten, came from local breeders John and James Dugdale, who run the Borrins flock at Stackhouse, Settle, selling to S Lord, Oldham, the second a pen of nine from Welsh breeders E&D Jones, of Machynlleth, sold to A Hartley, Blackshaw Head.
